Position Summary

As a Magento 2 Developer, your primary responsibility will be to develop, customize, and maintain Magento 2-based e-commerce websites. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, designers, and backend developers, to deliver high-quality, scalable, and performance-driven solutions. Your expertise in Magento 2 development and best practices will be crucial in ensuring the successful implementation of e-commerce projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Magento 2 websites, themes, and extensions following best practices and coding standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers, designers, and backend developers to gather requirements, estimate timelines, and deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Customize and extend Magento 2 functionality through module development and integration of third-party extensions.
  • Implement responsive design principles to ensure websites are optimized for various devices and screen sizes.
  • Optimize website performance by identifying and resolving bottlenecks, reducing page load times, and improving server response times.
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in Magento 2 development and e-commerce technologies.
  • Collaborate with the QA team to ensure proper testing of developed features and bug fixes.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to other team members when required.

Required Skill Set and Experience

  • Strong experience in Magento 2 development, including custom module development and theme customization.
  • Proficiency in PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
  • Experience with version control systems, such as Git.
  • Familiarity with Magento 2 frontend development, including working with templates, layouts, and UI components.
  • Understanding of Magento 2 architecture, database structure, and data models.
  • Knowledge of Magento 2 performance optimization techniques and caching mechanisms.
  • Experience with integrating and customizing third-party extensions and APIs.
  • Familiarity with responsive design principles and ability to develop mobile-friendly websites.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Knowledge of best practices in software development, including coding standards, code reviews, and version control workflows.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Magento 2 certification(s) or relevant certifications in e-commerce development.
    • Experience with other e-commerce platforms, such as WooCommerce or Shopify.
    • Knowledge of front-end frameworks, such as Bootstrap or Foundation.
